3.11.0 Release Notes

Calculate version 3.11.0 release notes.

Highlights

Our latest iteration of the Calculate software includes the following updates:

  • Slip-on flange calculations methodology released as part of v3.9.0 has been updated
  • Heat Exchanger and Special flange gasket material updates
  • Hi-Force TWH-N torque tool updates

Slip-on flange calculations methodology

Slip-on flange calculations methodology released as part of v3.9.0 has been updated from using:

  • ASME BPVC Section VIII Divisions 1 & 2 (2023), WRC 538, and PVP 2014‑28685, to using
  • ASME BPVC Section VIII Divisions 2 (2025) and WRC 538.

Users should open saved Slip-on flange calculations an update to the latest calculation methodology.

Heat Exchanger and Special flange gasket material updates

We have updated several HX/Special Flange gaskets materials to stop functioning within the software and will now give users a calculation error if they are selected. This has been done to stop any calculations being carried out with the wrong calculation methodology to reduce the risk of joint damage or leakage.

The below Heat Exchanger and Special flange gasket materials have been updated:

  • IX Seal Ring
  • O-Ring
  • Seal Ring
  • Taper-Lok Seal Ring
  • Ring Type Joint RX

Following this update, calculations done with these gasket types will not provide tightening results.

Users that selected these gasket types should review the saved calculations and contact Support ([email protected]) if extra support is required.

Hi-Force TWH-N torque tool updates

The Hi-Force TWH-N torque tool range has been revised in our Calculate data library to include all of the individual imperial/metric hydraulic tool and ratchet combinations.

As a result, any joints previously saved in Calculate with a tool from this range will have been removed from any saved joints, including any reports saved within calculate.

Should users re-assign a TWH tool to their saved joint from the revised selection, they may find in certain circumstances that the pump pressures derived from the tightening solution results have changed from the previous tool data by some margin. Should there be any issues around this updated, users can contact Support ([email protected]).
