View linked equipment for a tag
Overview
This guide provides comprehensive instructions for managing tags within Operate.
Users can perform a variety of actions including viewing, creating, uploading, editing, duplicating, and managing tags.
The steps to add tags to new or existing packs, link tags to documents or equipment, and create flags on tags are detailed.
Additionally, the guide explains how to view tag-related information such as status history, audits, and linked equipment. It also covers the processes for archiving, viewing archived tags, restoring archived tags, and hiding archived tags.
Each procedure is illustrated with accompanying animated images to aid user understanding.
Viewing a Tag
To view a tag:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to view, click on the Tag ID of the tag in the table or go to the context menu and click View.
Create a Tag
To create a tag:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- From the table context menu, click Create.
- Select a discipline and tag type from the dropdown lists of available options.
- Populate all the required fields marked with * and any other information you want to update for each of the options shown for the tag type selected.
Uploading Tags
To upload tags:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- From the table context menu, click Get tag upload template.
- Select a discipline and tag type from the dropdown lists of available options and then click the link to download the template.
- Select a filename and location.
- You will now have a csv file with all the tag groups output to the location you selected.
- Open the templete and populate the below fields in the csv file as a minimum and save the file:
- Tag ID
- Discipline
- Tag Type
- From the table context menu, click Get tag upload tags.
- Use the upload a file to navigate to your csv file and upload.
- This process will create a task in the uploads section where you can monitor the progress of your upload. Please read the uploads article https://help.asset55.io/en_GB/operate/uploads for a more detailed description of how this works.
Edit a Tag
To edit a tag:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to edit, go to the context menu and click Edit.
Duplicate a Tag
To duplicate a tag:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to dupliacte, go to the context menu and click Duplicate tag.
- Enter a new tag id for the tag and then update any of the other values in the tag and save.
View Tags on Model
To view tags that have been enriched to the model:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Click on the models icon.
- You will see a split screen, the left hand-side the tags table and the right hand-side will show the model.
- Add any filters you require on the tags table.
- If there is more than one tag enriched, you will see a toggle switch in the header Tag ID, you can use this to toggle all the tags that have been enriched to the model on or off.
- You can also just switch individual tags on and off using the toggle switch next to each tag.
View a Tags Packs
To view packs that include a specific tag:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to view packs, go to the context menu and hover over View pack.
- Select the pack you want to view.

Add a Tag to an Existing Pack
To add a tag to an existing pack:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to add to a pack, go to the context menu and click Add to an existing pack.
- Select the pack you want to add the tag to by typing the first 3 letters. Please note only packs that thave been setup with the same discipline and tag type will show.
- Click on the Select button to add the tag to the pack.
Add a Tag to a New Pack
To add a tag to a new pack:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to add to a new pack, go to the context menu and click Add to a new pack.
- Select the pack type you want to add the tag to from the dropdown list. Please note only packs that thave been setup with the same discipline and tag type will show.
- Populate any Predecessors from the dropdown list.
- Populate a pack name as a minimun and then populate any of the other fields if required and click save.
View a Tags Status History
To view a tags status history:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to view status history, go to the context menu and click View status history.
Linking a Tag to a Document
To link a document to a tag:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to link a document, go to the context menu, and click Link to a document.
- Select a previously uploaded document and then click link.
- Or you can upload a new document by clicking the New document option and then upload the document from your pc.
- Fill in the required information and save.
Create a Flag on a Tag
You can create flags on a tag for the following flags:
- Hazordous release
- Non Conformance
- Punch list
- Technical query
To create a flag on a tag:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to create a flag, go to the context menu and hover over Create flags.
- Select the flag type you want to create.
- Populate the fileds marked with * as a minimun and save.
View Tag Audits
To view the audit history of a tag:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to view the audit history, go to the context menu and click View tag audits.
Link Tags to Equipment
To link a tag to an item of equipemnt. Only Tags and Equipment with the same discipline and tag type can be linked together:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to link to an item of equipment, go to the context menu and click Link to equipment.
- Start typying the equipemnt id and select.
- Add the equipment certificate from the dropdown list if required.
- Populate any of the other fields if required.
- The maintenance period is taken from the tag and the duration is number of months and must be between 1 and 500 months.
- Add any comments if required and save.
View Linked Equipment for a Tag
To view linked equipment for a tag:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to view linked equipment, go to the context menu and click Linked equipment.
- You will see the linked equipment where you can view, edit or delete the link.
Archiving a Tag
To archive a tag:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- Find the tag you want to archive, go to the context menu, and click Archive.
View Archived Tags
To view archived tags:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- From the table context menu, click View archived.
Restore an Archived Tag
To restore a previously archived tag:
- From the Home Screen, go to Tags.
- From the table context menu, click View archived.
- Find the tag you want to restore, go to the context menu, and click Unarchive.
Hide Archived Tags
To hide archived tags:
- When viewing archived tags.
- From the table context menu, click Hide archived.
