Overview

The Packs module offers a comprehensive suite of functionalities for accessing, creating, managing, and organizing packs.

Users can access packs from the landing page or the navigation ribbon.

Creating a new pack involves naming it, selecting the pack type, and filling in additional fields, as necessary.

Users can open, edit, duplicate, and add joints to packs, or create new packs with selected joints.

Joints can be removed individually or in bulk, and their statuses can be updated.

Witness flags can be added or removed from joints.

The platform supports generating detailed reports for individual joints or entire packs, available in PDF or Excel formats.

Packs can be archived, restored, and deleted, either individually or in bulk.

This suite of features ensures efficient and organized management of pack-related data.

How to Access Packs

You can access packs from the landing page or the navigation window:

From the landing page

To open packs from the landing page:

  1. From the Calculate landing page, click the Packs icon.

From the navigation ribbon

To open packs from the navigation ribbon:

  1. When you are already in any feature, click the Packs icon in the navigation ribbon to the left.

Create a Pack

To create a new pack:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Using the table context menu, select Add New Pack.
  3. Populate the Pack Name/Job No field with a name for your pack.
  4. From the dropdown list select the Pack Type from the dropdown list.
  5. Populate any of the other fields you require in the form.
  6. Provide the access level 1 and 2 if you require the pack for a particular Hierarchy.
  7. Press the Save button to save the Pack.

Open Pack

To open a pack and view any joints:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack you want to open, click on the pack name or using the row context menu select the option Open Pack.

Edit a Pack

To edit a pack:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack you want to edit, using the row context menu select the option Edit Pack.
  3. Make any required changes.
  4. Press the Save button to save changes.

Duplicate a Pack

To duplicate a pack including the joints in the duplicated pack:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack you want to duplicate, using the row context menu select the option Duplicate Pack.
  3. Enter a name for the newly created pack.
  4. If you want to keep the current tag statuses from the duplicated pack select the option Retain joint status from duplicated pack.
  5. Select the Duplicate button to create the new pack.

Add Joints to a Pack

To add joints to a pack:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack you want to add joints into, using the row context menu select the option Add Joints to Pack.
  3. Select the joints you want to add to the pack.
  4. From the table context menu, click the option Add selected Joints to Pack.
  5. You can change the pack type if required using the dropdown list.
  6. Click the Save To button to add the joints to the pack.

Add Joints to a New Pack

To add joints to a new pack from within packs:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate any pack you want to add joints to a new pack, using the row context menu select the option Add Joints to Pack.
  3. Select the joints you want to add to the pack.
  4. From the table context menu, click the option Create New Pack With selected Joints.
  5. Enter a name for the pack and select a Pack type from the dropdown list.
  6. Enter access level 1 and 2 if required, and then populate any of the other fields you require for the pack.
  7. Click the Create & Add button to add the joints to the new pack.

Copy Joints to a Different Pack

To copy joints to a different pack:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack containing joints you want to copy to a different pack, using the row context menu select the option Open Pack.
  3. Using the table context menu select the option Copt to...
  4. Select a joint status from the dropdown list.
  5. Select a pack type,
  6. In pack name select a pack, you can start typing the pack name.
  7. Click the Copy button to copy the joints that meet the status criteria to the pack.

Remove a Joint from Pack

You can remove a joint from a pack where the status of the joint has a completed status or cancelled:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack containing the tag you want to remove, using the row context menu select the option Open Pack.
  3. Locate the tag you want to remove, using the row context menu select the option Remove Joint.
  4. Click on the remove button.

Bulk Remove Joints from Pack

You can remove joints from a pack in bulk where the status of the joints has a completed status or cancelled:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack containing the joints you want to remove, using the row context menu select the option Open Pack.
  3. Select the joints you want to remove, Using the table context menu select the option
  4. Locate the tag you want to remove, using the row context menu select the option Remove Joints from Pack.

Changing the Status of a Joint in a Pack

You can change the status of joints in a pack:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack containing joints you want change the status of, using the row context menu select the option Open Pack.
  3. Change the status of a joint using the dropdown list.

Note: depending upon the status you are updating to, you might be asked for further information about the joint such as who conducted the work and on what date. Information such as this is important, as it is recorded in joint history.

Bulk Changing the Status of Joints in a Pack

You can change the status of joints in a pack in bulk:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack containing joints you want change the status of, using the row context menu select the option Open Pack.
  3. Select the joints you want to bulk update the status of.
  4. Change the status you want to change the joints to by using the dropdown list at the top right of the table.

Note: depending upon the status you are updating to, you might be asked for further information about the joint such as who conducted the work and on what date. Information such as this is important, as it is recorded in joint history.

Adding Witness Flags to Joints in a Pack

You can add witness flags to joints from within a pack:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack containing the joints you want to add witness flags, using the row context menu select the option Open Pack.
  3. Select the joints you want to add a witness flag, using the table context menu select the option Flag as Witness Joints.

Removing Witness Flags on Joints in a Pack

You can remove witness flags on joints from within a pack:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack containing the joints you want to remove witness flags, using the row context menu select the option Open Pack.
  3. Select the joints you want to remove a witness flag, using the table context menu select the option Remove Witness Flags.

Generating Reports from Packs

You can download any of the available reports from packs that will include information on the joints within the selected pack:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack you want to download a report, using the row context hover over the Downloads selection and then choose a report from the available list.
  3. If prompted Select if you require PDF or Excel.
  4. You will then receive a Zip file in your downloads folder containing the reports for the pack.

Generating Individual Joint Reports from Packs

You can download any of the available reports from packs for individual joints:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack that contains a tag you want to download a report, using the row context select the Open Pack option.
  3. Find the tag you want to download a report for, using the row context hover over the Downloads selection and then choose a report from the available list.
  4. If prompted Select if you require PDF or Excel.
  5. You will then receive a file in your downloads folder containing the reports for the pack in the format you selected.

Archiving a Pack

To archive a pack, the pack must have no incomplete joints within the pack, or you will see an error to advise:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the pack you want to archive, using the row context menu select the option Archive Pack.

Archiving Multiple Packs

To archive multiple packs, the packs must have no incomplete joints within the pack, or you will see an error to advise:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Locate the packs you want to archive and select each option.
  3. Using the table context menu select the option Archive Selected Packs.

View Archived Packs

To view archived packs:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Using the table context menu select the option Show Archived Packs.

Restore an Archived Pack

To restore a pack that has been archived:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Using the table context menu select the option Show Archived Packs.
  3. Locate the pack you want to restore, using the row context menu select the option Restore Pack.

Restore Multiple Archived Packs

To restore multiple packs that has been archived:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Using the table context menu select the option Show Archived Packs.
  3. Locate the packs you want to restore and select each option.
  4. Using the table context menu select the option Restore Selected Packs.

Hide Archived Packs

To hide archived packs:

  1. When viewing archived packs, using the table context menu select the option Hide Archived Packs.

Delete a Pack

When a pack is archived then the pack can be deleted:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Using the table context menu select the option Show Archived Packs.
  3. Locate the packs you want to delete, using the row context menu select the option Delete Pack.
  4. Select the Delete button.

Delete Multiple Packs

When packs are archived then the packs can be deleted in bulk:

  1. Open packs.
  2. Using the table context menu select the option Show Archived Packs.
  3. Select the packs you want to delete, using the table context menu select the option Delete Selected Packs.
  4. Select the Delete button.
